Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Windhoek

Welcome to Namibia! Upon arrival at the airport, we are met and transferred to Windhoek, where we collect our rental vehicle. We then continue to our guesthouse in the suburb of Avis. The remainder of the day is free to relax or stock up on supplies for the camping adventure ahead.

Day 2

Tsaris Mountains

After breakfast, we travel via Rehoboth towards the Namib and arrive at Tsauchab River Camp on the edge of the Tsaris Mountains. After setting up camp, there is time to explore one of the walking trails or try sections of the camp's 4x4 trail. The evening is spent at the campsite.

Day 3

Towards Sesriem

There is time to explore the Tsaris Mountains on one of the walking trails before continuing to Sesriem. Our campsite is located inside Namib-Naukluft National Park, close to the entrance to Sossusvlei. After setting up camp, there may be time to visit Elim Dune or Sesriem Canyon.

Day 4

Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

An early start takes us to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, two of Namibia's best-known attractions. Those who wish can climb one of the dunes before returning to the campsite. On the return journey, there is an opportunity to visit Sesriem Canyon if it was not explored the previous day.

Day 5

Swakopmund

After breakfast, we pack up camp and continue north. Along the way, there is an opportunity to stop in Solitaire before crossing the central Namib and passing the Tropic of Capricorn. By afternoon, we arrive in Swakopmund, where our accommodation is situated on the Atlantic coast.

Day 6

Swakopmund

One of the highlights of the day is an excursion on the Atlantic coast, either by catamaran or kayak, depending on the itinerary. Wildlife sightings may include seals, pelicans, flamingos and dolphins. The afternoon is free to explore Swakopmund at your own pace.

Day 7

Erongo Mountains

Before leaving Swakopmund, there is time to restock supplies for the next few days of camping. We then travel inland via the Spitzkoppe to the Erongo Mountains. After setting up camp, there is time to explore the area on foot.

Day 8

Erongo Mountains

The day is free to explore the Erongo Mountains. There are opportunities for walking and exploring the area, or alternatively, to visit the nearby Living Museum of the San (optional), where visitors can learn about the traditional way of life of Namibia's first inhabitants.

Day 9

Twyfelfontein

Our route takes us via Uis and past the Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain, to Twyfelfontein. Here, there is an opportunity to visit the rock engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, we continue to our campsite, where we spend the night.

Day 10

Twyfelfontein

The day is free to explore the Twyfelfontein area. An optional Elephant Nature Drive offers the opportunity to search for the desert-adapted elephants that inhabit the region. The excursion follows the dry riverbeds of the Huab and Aba-Huab Rivers.

Day 11

Etosha National Park

We continue to Etosha National Park. Our campsite is located close to the park entrance and serves as a base for exploring the area. Depending on our arrival time, there may be an opportunity for a first game drive in the park.

Day 12

Etosha National Park

The day is spent exploring Etosha National Park and visiting a selection of waterholes throughout the park. Wildlife sightings may include elephant, giraffe, zebra, kudu, oryx and springbok. In the late afternoon, we return to our campsite.

Day 13

Central Highlands

Leaving Etosha National Park behind, we travel south to Okonjima. Our campsite is located within the private nature reserve, home to the AfriCat Foundation. In the afternoon, an included game drive offers the opportunity to search for one of the reserve's resident leopards.

Day 14

Towards Windhoek

We pack up camp and travel to a private wildlife reserve near Windhoek. Upon arrival, there is time to relax or join an optional game drive before our final night in Namibia.

Day 15

Departure

After breakfast, we drive back to Windhoek, return our rental vehicle and transfer to the airport for our onward flight home.
