Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Windhoek

Welcome to Namibia! Upon arrival at the airport, we will be met and transferred to Windhoek, where we collect our rental vehicle. We then make our way to our accommodation, offering the perfect place to unwind after the long flight. The rest of the day is at leisure. Depending on our arrival time, we may take a first stroll through Windhoek, relax by the pool or enjoy a drink overlooking the city.

Day 2

Sesriem / Sossuvlei

After breakfast, our self-drive holiday through Namibia begins as we travel via Rehoboth towards the Namib Desert. Along the way, the scenery changes gradually, giving way to wide open plains, striking mountain ranges and the first red dunes. Our lodge is set within this unique desert landscape and provides the perfect base for the days ahead. Depending on our arrival time, there may be an opportunity to explore the surroundings, visit Sesriem Canyon or simply relax and enjoy the peace and vastness of the Namib.

Day 3

Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

Today brings one of the highlights of any Namibia holiday. Setting off early in the morning, we make our way to Sossusvlei, where the first light of day illuminates the towering red dunes. We visit the famous Deadvlei, known for its ancient camelthorn trees standing against the white clay pan, and those who wish can climb one of the dunes for sweeping views across the desert. On the return journey, there is an opportunity to stop at Sesriem Canyon before heading back to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon.

Day 4

To Swakopmund

Today we leave the Namib Desert behind and travel over the Gaub and Kuiseb Passes towards Namibia's Atlantic coast. The route takes us through vast desert landscapes, where ostriches, oryx, springbok and zebras are often seen along the way. Via Walvis Bay, we arrive in the coastal town of Swakopmund, known for its blend of German colonial architecture and seaside charm. The remainder of the day is at leisure. We may choose to stroll along the promenade or enjoy dinner at one of the town's many restaurants.

Day 5

Swakopmund

Today we enjoy a boat cruise on the Walvis Bay Lagoon, where we experience the rich wildlife of Namibia's Atlantic coast. Seals, dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and many other bird species are regular visitors to these waters. Around midday, we return to Swakopmund, where the afternoon is at leisure. We can browse the local shops and galleries, relax on the beach or visit one of the town's cafés. For those looking for more adventure, a wide range of optional activities is available, including quad biking, sandboarding and scenic flights over the Namib Desert.

Day 6

Erongo Region

Today we leave Namibia's Atlantic coast behind and head inland. Along the way, we enjoy views of the striking Spitzkoppe, often referred to as Namibia's Matterhorn because of its distinctive shape. The scenery changes once again, with impressive granite formations, wide open plains and rolling hills accompanying us on our journey. After arriving at our lodge, there is time to relax or, depending on the accommodation, join a guided nature or game drive. As evening approaches, the landscape is transformed by the warm colours of the setting sun.

Day 7

Etosha National Park

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Etosha National Park. One of Africa's best-known wildlife reserves, Etosha is renowned for its remarkable diversity of wildlife and unforgettable safari experiences. Our lodge is located close to the park entrance, providing the perfect base for the days ahead. Depending on our arrival time, there may be an opportunity for our first game drive in Etosha National Park or simply to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the lodge.

Day 8

Etosha National Park

Today is dedicated to wildlife viewing in Etosha National Park. We explore the park and visit a variety of waterholes where animals gather throughout the year. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, oryx, kudu, wildebeest and ostriches are regular sights, making every game drive a rewarding experience. No two safaris are ever the same, with each drive offering something new to discover. Towards the evening, we return to our lodge to relax after another memorable day in the African bush.

Day 9

Etosha National Park

(Silver) Today offers another full day to enjoy the wildlife of Etosha National Park. Exploring at our own pace, we visit a selection of waterholes where animals gather throughout the year. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope, lions and rhinos are among the species regularly seen here. Alternatively, we can spend time relaxing at the lodge and simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings after the excitement of the previous days.

(Gold) Today we explore the eastern section of Etosha National Park. Along the way, we visit a variety of waterholes, each offering excellent opportunities to observe the park's abundant wildlife. Every game drive is different, with elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelope and lions regularly seen along the route. Towards the evening, we leave the park and continue to our lodge, where we can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the African bush.

Day 10

Rundu

Today we leave Etosha National Park behind and travel north to the banks of the Okavango River. Along the way, traditional villages and thatched huts provide a glimpse into everyday life in this part of Namibia. Our lodge is beautifully situated on the riverbank, overlooking Angola on the opposite side. As the day draws to a close, we enjoy a sunset boat cruise on the Okavango, taking in the peaceful atmosphere of this remarkable region.

Day 11

Along the Okavango River

Today we continue our journey along the Okavango River towards the Zambezi Region. Along the way, we pass traditional Kavango villages, offering a glimpse into everyday life in Namibia's lush north. Our lodge is situated on the riverbank, providing the perfect place to experience the peaceful surroundings. During the afternoon, we enjoy another boat cruise on the Okavango, where hippos, crocodiles and a remarkable variety of birdlife are regular highlights.

Day 12

Mahango National Park

Today we have the opportunity to explore Mahango National Park. Although one of Namibia's smaller parks, it is renowned for its rich wildlife and beautiful landscapes of river channels, floodplains and woodland. Buffalo, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, a variety of antelope species and an impressive diversity of birdlife are all regularly seen here. Afterwards, we return to our lodge to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere along the Okavango River.

Day 13

Zambezi Region

Today we continue our journey into the eastern Zambezi Region. Crossing the Okavango, we travel through Bwabwata National Park to our lodge on the banks of the Kwando River. Lush vegetation, winding waterways and abundant wildlife give this part of Namibia a completely different character from the rest of the country. Depending on the lodge and included activities, we may enjoy a boat cruise on the Kwando River or a game drive in the national park. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles and an impressive variety of birdlife are regular highlights of this remarkable region.

Day 14

Bwabwata National Park

Today we explore Bwabwata National Park on a guided game drive. Its varied landscapes of floodplains, riverine forests and open grasslands provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. The Kwando River is particularly well known for its large elephant population, while buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, a variety of antelope species and abundant birdlife are also commonly seen. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Depending on the lodge, there may be opportunities to enjoy additional activities or simply relax and soak up the peaceful surroundings.

Day 15

Chobe River, Botswana

Today we leave Namibia and travel to Katima Mulilo, where we return our rental vehicle. From there, we are transferred to Kasane in Botswana. After a short boat transfer, we arrive at our lodge on the Chobe River, the perfect base for exploring one of southern Africa's richest wildlife regions. During the afternoon, we enjoy our first boat cruise on the Chobe River. Elephants, hippos, crocodiles and an impressive variety of waterbirds are regularly seen along its banks.

Day 16

Chobe National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the remarkable wildlife of Chobe National Park. Depending on the lodge and daily programme, we discover the region on a guided game drive or during a boat cruise on the Chobe River. The park is especially famous for its large elephant herds, while buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, a variety of antelope species and abundant birdlife are also regularly encountered. Between activities, there is time to relax at the lodge and enjoy its beautiful riverside setting.

Day 17

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Today we leave the Chobe region behind and transfer to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. After arriving, there is time to visit the world-famous Victoria Falls. Stretching for almost 1.7 kilometres, the Zambezi River plunges up to 110 metres into the gorge below, creating one of Africa's most impressive natural wonders. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Those who wish can choose from a range of optional activities, including a sunset cruise, a helicopter flight or visits to local attractions.

Day 18

Departure

Depending on our flight time, there may be an opportunity to enjoy one last optional activity or a final visit to Victoria Falls. Afterwards, we are transferred to the airport for our onward flight home. Taking home unforgettable memories and lasting impressions, our journey through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe comes to an end.
