Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Livingstone

Welcome to Zambia! Upon arrival at Livingstone Airport, we are met and transferred to our lodge on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Across the water lies Zimbabwe's Zambezi National Park, providing a beautiful backdrop to our stay. After settling in, there is time to unwind and enjoy the peaceful riverside setting. In the afternoon, you may choose from a range of optional activities, such as visiting a traditional village or exploring the riverbank in search of the area's rich birdlife.

Day 2

Victoria Falls

Today we visit the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of Africa's greatest natural wonders. Here, the mighty Zambezi River plunges up to 110 metres into the gorge below, creating a curtain of water stretching approximately 1,708 metres across. The local Kololo people named the falls Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning "The Smoke That Thunders", inspired by the towering spray rising above the gorge. Optional activities include a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, a helicopter flight over the falls or a fishing excursion.

Day 3

To Kafue National Park

After breakfast, we transfer to Livingstone Airport for our flight to Lusaka. From there, we continue by road to Kafue National Park, Zambia's largest national park and one of Africa's largest protected wilderness areas. Along the way, we gain an insight into everyday Zambian life as we pass rural villages and bustling roadside markets. Our lodge is beautifully situated on the banks of the Kafue River, providing an excellent base for exploring this diverse ecosystem. Even around the lodge, impala, baboons, hippos, elephants and an impressive variety of birdlife are regularly seen.

Day 4 & 5

Kafue National Park

The next two days are dedicated to exploring Kafue National Park, one of Africa's largest and least-visited wilderness areas. Away from the well-travelled safari routes, we discover a remarkable diversity of landscapes and wildlife. Depending on the time of day, we enjoy game drives in open safari vehicles or explore sections of the Kafue River by boat. The park is home to elephants, buffalo, numerous antelope species, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and African wild dogs. Between activities, there is time to unwind at our bush camp and watch wildlife gathering around the nearby river and lagoon.

Day 6

To the South Luangwa National Park

Our day begins with one final game drive in Kafue National Park before we travel back to Lusaka. In the afternoon, we board a flight to Mfuwe, the gateway to the renowned South Luangwa National Park. Our lodge is beautifully situated beside a peaceful lagoon, surrounded by ancient ebony and fig trees. Its natural setting offers excellent opportunities to observe wildlife directly from the lodge. We spend the evening relaxing and looking forward to the exciting safari experiences awaiting us in one of Zambia's most celebrated national parks.

Day 7 - 9

South Luangwa National Park

The next three days are dedicated to exploring the wilderness of South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa's finest safari destinations. Renowned for its exceptional wildlife, the park is home to large herds of elephants and buffalo, the endemic Thornicroft's giraffe and an impressive variety of predators. Accompanied by experienced guides, we discover this diverse landscape on game drives and, depending on the camp, on guided walking safaris for which South Luangwa is internationally renowned. Night drives offer another opportunity to experience the park as its nocturnal wildlife becomes active. Between activities, we can relax at our intimate bush camp and enjoy the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 10

To Lower Zambezi National Park

Today we fly to Lower Zambezi National Park, one of Zambia's most beautiful wilderness areas. Our transfer from the airstrip to the lodge doubles as our first game drive through the park. The lodge enjoys a superb location on the banks of the Zambezi River, blending seamlessly into its natural surroundings. From here, we can admire the river and the mountains beyond while enjoying the rich birdlife and abundant wildlife. Elephants, hippos and many other animals are frequent visitors to the area around the lodge, creating an unforgettable safari atmosphere from the moment we arrive.

Day 11 & 12

Lower Zambezi National Park

The next two days are spent exploring Lower Zambezi National Park, one of Zambia's most rewarding safari destinations. Together with Mana Pools National Park on the opposite bank in Zimbabwe, it forms an extraordinary wilderness area along the Zambezi River. Depending on the time of day, we discover the park on game drives, boat cruises or canoe excursions. Its floodplains, forests and open grasslands support elephants, buffalo, hippos, numerous antelope species and exceptional birdlife. With patience, lions and other predators may also be encountered. Early morning outings and sunset excursions are particularly memorable as the Zambezi is bathed in warm golden light.

Day 13

Lusaka

Today we leave Zambia's wilderness behind and return to Lusaka. The country's vibrant capital provides a striking contrast to the national parks and remote landscapes we have experienced over the past days. Tree-lined avenues, modern buildings and the lively atmosphere of the city create a completely different perspective on Zambia. Our hotel is located in a peaceful part of the city, offering the perfect setting to relax and reflect on the unforgettable safari experiences of the journey.

Day 14

Departure

Today it is time to say goodbye to Zambia. After breakfast, we transfer to Lusaka Airport for our onward flight home. We leave with unforgettable safari experiences, breathtaking landscapes and lasting memories of one of Africa's most authentic wilderness destinations.
