Welcome to Botswana! Upon arrival at Maun Airport, we are met and transferred to our accommodation on the banks of the Thamalakane River. During the drive, we experience the authentic atmosphere of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, where people, cattle, donkeys and goats all share the streets. After checking in, there is time to unwind after the long journey, relax by the pool or simply enjoy the peaceful riverside setting.
Today our fly-in safari adventure begins. We board a light aircraft and fly deep into Botswana's wilderness, where—depending on your itinerary—we arrive either in the Makgadikgadi region or the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Both destinations rank among the country's most rewarding wildlife areas and promise unforgettable safari experiences. During our stay, we explore the surrounding landscapes on open-vehicle game drives, searching for elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes and a variety of antelope species. With patience, predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and African wild dogs may also be encountered. Between activities, we can unwind in the comfort of our exclusive lodge, surrounded by the tranquillity of the African bush.
Our fly-in safari continues to the world-famous Okavango Delta, one of the largest inland deltas on Earth and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the air, we enjoy spectacular views of its intricate network of waterways, lagoons and palm-fringed islands. Depending on your itinerary, we stay at a lodge on a secluded island or beside one of the delta's many channels. During our stay, we explore this unique ecosystem on boat cruises and traditional mokoro excursions, while selected camps also offer game drives and guided nature walks. The Okavango Delta supports an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and birdlife, making it one of Africa's most captivating wilderness areas.
Our next flight takes us into Moremi Game Reserve, one of Africa's most diverse and rewarding wildlife areas. Open floodplains, winding waterways, lagoons and mopane woodland combine to create a rich habitat for an exceptional variety of wildlife. Depending on your itinerary, your lodge is located either beside one of the Okavango's channels or on the edge of a major waterway deep within the reserve. During our stay, we explore the area on open-vehicle game drives and, at selected camps, by boat. Elephants, buffalo, giraffes and numerous antelope species are regularly encountered, while patient observers may also be rewarded with sightings of lions, leopards or cheetahs.
Our next flight brings us to the legendary Savuti region in the western section of Chobe National Park. This rugged and ever-changing landscape is renowned for its outstanding wildlife viewing and ranks among Botswana's finest safari destinations. During our stay, we explore the area on extensive game drives through open savannah, ancient riverbeds and around natural waterholes. Elephants, giraffes, buffalo, a variety of antelope species, lions, hyenas and other predators are regularly encountered in this remarkable ecosystem. Even from the lodge, wildlife sightings are often part of the daily experience.
Today we board a light aircraft for our flight to Kasane. From the air, we enjoy sweeping views across Chobe National Park and the extensive wetlands of the Linyanti and Chobe river systems. Depending on your itinerary, we either settle into a riverside lodge or board an elegant houseboat for the next two nights. The days ahead are dedicated to outstanding wildlife viewing. Through a combination of boat cruises and game drives, we experience one of Africa's largest elephant populations, together with hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, numerous antelope species and an exceptional variety of birdlife. Exploring the Chobe from the water offers a unique perspective on this remarkable ecosystem.
Today we transfer to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, either by a combination of boat and road transfer or entirely by road, depending on your itinerary. Our accommodation is located close to the famous falls or within easy walking distance of the lively town centre. In the afternoon, we visit one of Africa's greatest natural wonders, where the mighty Zambezi River plunges up to 110 metres into the gorge below across a width of approximately 1,708 metres. The local Kololo people named the falls Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning "The Smoke That Thunders", inspired by the towering spray that rises above the gorge and can often be seen from many kilometres away.
Today it is time to say goodbye to southern Africa. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be time this morning to enjoy one last optional activity or simply relax before departure. Afterwards, we transfer to the airport for our onward flight home, taking with us unforgettable safari experiences, breathtaking landscapes and lasting memories of an extraordinary adventure.
