Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival in Windhoek

Upon arrival at the airport, we will be met and transferred to Windhoek. Our accommodation provides the perfect place to relax and unwind after the long flight. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Depending on our arrival time, we may choose to enjoy the pool or gardens, or head into Windhoek for a first glimpse of Namibia's capital. In the evening, we can round off the day with a relaxed dinner or a drink.

Day 2

Into the Kalahari

After breakfast, we collect our rental vehicle and begin our self-drive adventure through Namibia. Travelling via Rehoboth and Kalkrand, we make our way to the Kalahari, a striking landscape of red sand dunes, open savannah and camelthorn trees. After settling into our lodge, there is time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In the late afternoon, we head out on a guided nature drive in an open safari vehicle. As the sun begins to set, we experience the beauty of the Kalahari while keeping an eye out for oryx, springbok, ostriches and other wildlife that calls this unique environment home.

Day 3

Sesriem / Sossusvlei

After breakfast, we continue our drive towards the Namib Desert via the scenic Tsaris Pass. Along the way, wide open plains, isolated mountains, dry riverbeds and the first red sand dunes provide a glimpse of the landscapes that await us over the coming days. Our lodge is surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the desert and offers an ideal base for exploring the area. After checking in, there is time to relax, take a walk or simply soak up the tranquillity and endless views across the Namib.

Day 4

Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

Today brings one of the highlights of any Namibia holiday. Setting off in the early morning, we make our way to Sossusvlei, where the first light of day paints the towering red dunes in ever-changing shades of colour. We explore the famous Deadvlei, known for its ancient camelthorn trees standing against a white clay pan, and those who wish can climb one of the dunes for sweeping views across the desert. On our way back, we stop at Sesriem Canyon before returning to the lodge to enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Day 5

To Swakopmund

Today we leave the Namib Desert behind and travel over the Gaub and Kuiseb Passes towards Namibia's Atlantic coast. The route takes us through wide desert landscapes where, with a bit of luck, we may spot ostriches, oryx, springbok or zebras along the way. By the afternoon, we arrive in the coastal town of Swakopmund, known for its blend of German colonial architecture and seaside charm. The rest of the day is at leisure. We may choose to stroll along the promenade, explore the town or enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants.

Day 6

Swakopmund

Today we enjoy a boat cruise on the Walvis Bay Lagoon. With a little luck, we may encounter seals, dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and a variety of other birdlife in their natural habitat. Around midday, we return to Swakopmund, where the afternoon is at leisure. We can browse the local shops and galleries, relax on the beach or visit one of the town's cafés. For those looking for more adventure, a wide range of optional activities is available, including quad biking, sandboarding and scenic flights over the Namib Desert.

Day 7

Erongo Mountains

Today we leave the Atlantic coast behind and make our way to the Erongo Mountains. Along the route, we catch sight of the striking Spitzkoppe, often referred to as Namibia's Matterhorn because of its distinctive shape. The Erongo Mountains are known for their impressive granite boulders, unusual rock formations and diverse plant and animal life. After arriving at our lodge, there is time to explore the area on foot or simply relax and take in the peaceful surroundings.

Day 8

Twyfelfontein / Etosha National Park

(Silver) Today we continue into Damaraland, one of Namibia's most remote and varied landscapes. Along the way, we pass the impressive Brandberg Massif, the country's highest mountain, before reaching Twyfelfontein. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of Africa's most important collections of ancient rock engravings. Those who wish can join a guided walk to learn more about this fascinating cultural site (optional). Accompanied by an experienced guide, we explore the dry riverbeds of the Huab and Aba-Huab in an open safari vehicle. These unique river systems not only offer the chance of encountering these remarkable animals but also showcase beautiful desert scenery, towering camelthorn trees and a surprising variety of wildlife. A memorable day in one of Namibia's most unspoilt regions.
