A 14-days self-drive tour
through the South of Namibia, experiencing the beauty of the Kalahari, the
Namib Naukluft and the Namib Desert.
Day 1: Arrive in Windhoek, transfer to Guestfarm
Relaxing afternoon on this rustic farm. After p.m coffee and cake we depart on a nature drive on this 5000 hectare wildlife reserve ending with a sundowner under a setting African sun. Lodge in the country not far from the airport.Day 2: Drive to the Kalahari semi-desert
Afternoon game drive in the Kalahari viewing a variety of animals. The many Camelthorn
Trees are a dominant feature of this unique semi-desert paradise. Lodge in between the red sand dunes.Day 3: Drive via Keetmanshoop to the Fish River Canyon
The unique southern Namib is home to a variety of interesting succulents and trees, including the Quiver Tree used by the local bushman to carry their bows and arrows. Lodge at the Fish River Canyon.Day 4: Visit to the Fish River Canyon
Lodge at the Fish River Canyon, the second biggest Canyon in the world after the great
Grand Canyon. A special area to take a walk and enjoy the magnificent views.Day 5: Drive along the Orange River bordering South Africa
The Orange River flows through the beautiful Namaqualand area. This expansive untouched desert paradise is part of a new Transfrontier Park. Lodge in Aus.Day 6: Drive to Luderitz
We travel through the southern Namib to Luderitz. Our hotel is diectly at the sea. The
natural harbour was discovered in 1487 by the Portuguese explorer Bartholomew Diaz.
We visit the ghost town of Kolmanskop which was built at the height of the diamond rush
here over 100 years ago. Hotel at the sea.Day 7: Drive to the Tiras Mountains, Namib Desert
This unique lodge is situated in the heart of the Tiras Mountains on the
edge of the Namib sand sea. Allow yourself to be revived by this magnificent surrounding
and enjoy a special feeling of endless freedom amongst shining red granite boulders. Ranch Koiimasis.Day 8: Sesriem/Sossusvlei
We drive along the great sand sea to reach Sesriem, the gateway to Sossusvlei. We enjoy a peaceful afternoon and take the opportunity to visit the Sesriem Canyon and climb the nearby Elim Dune to take in a 360 degree view of the beautiful desert sands and mountains in the distance. Lodge near the entrance of the Namib Naukluft Park.Day 9: Sesriem/Sossusvlei
Our lodge overlooks the massive sandsea to the west and the Naukluft mountains in the east. Our guide drives us deep into the heart of the dunes ending at the world famous Sossusvlei and dead vlei. A lovely area to walk amongst the highest dunes in the world Day. Lodge near the entrance of the Namib Naukluft Park. 10: Via the Ghaub Canyon to the Khomas Hochland
We enjoy an early morning drive along the Tsauchab River deep into the dune sea to the famous Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei. We walk this special area and enjoy a sumptuous late breakfast under the huge camelthorn trees. We continue to Solitaire where we can enjoy the legendary apple cake made by baker „Moose“. We reach our special guestfarm near the Gamsberg Pass, in time for a sundowner game drive and a very special dinner. Guestfarm in the Khomas Hochland Mountains.Day 11: Drive to Windhoek
Our journey is slowly coming to an end. We travel via Windhoek to reach our lodge between the mountains. We can relax in the lovely gardens and at the pool. In the late afternoon we enjoy our final game drive. Lodge in the country just north of Windhoek. Day 12: Flight departure Windhoek
We travel the short distance to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Windhoek is an interesting and cosmopolitan town. The many special shops, old colonial buildings and historic places of interest are worth a visit before our afternoon flight back home.
