NAMIBIA BOTSWANA VICTORIA FALLS - 19 DAYS

Namibia Botswana Victoria Falls - 19 days

Day 1: Lodge outside Windhoek

Transfer to lodge near airport, afternoon game drive in bushveld savannah.

Day 2: Journey to the edge of the Kalahari Desert, south eastern Namibia

We travel south to a lodge on the edge of the Kalahari. Typical red sand dunes and camelthorn tree savannah, we are taken on a game drive to view the many desert adapted antelope and birds including the giant sociable weaver nests.

Sossusvlei DuneDay 3: Depart to Sesriem/Sossusvlei

The journey takes you down the escarpment to the edge of the great sand sea. Continue via the Naukluft Mountains to your lodge at Sesriem. After walking the geologically interesting Sesriem canyon you can continue to the Elim Dune for a walk up to the summit to enjoy a 360 degree view of the surrounding desert landscape. Lodge near the gateway to Sossusvlei.

Day 4: Sossusvlei

We enjoy a morning drive into the dune sea which includes a visit to Dead Vlei and Sossusvlei and the opportunity to walk up one of the highest dunes in the world. Lodge in the Namib Desert.

Day 5: Via the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons to Swakopmund

Along the great sand sea, river canyons, gravel plains and Walvis Bay to Swakopmund. The small, friendly and historical town is fascinating with its many interesting buildings, shops and restaurants. Lodge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 6: Swakopmund

Morning boat cruise in the protected and marine life rich Walvis Bay. A fresh contrast to the sandy desert we experience the dolphins, seals, flamingos, pelicans and many other sea animals and birds. Lodge overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 7: Drive inland to the Erongo Mountains

A beautiful granite boulder strewn environment. You can enjoy an interesting walk to the bushman paintings or you may decide to visit the bushman “Living Museum“. Lodge in the Erongo mountains, between bizarre rock formations.

Day 8: Drive to the Etosha National Park Etosha Elephant

A game reserve over 24000 sq km in size, we spend many hours going on our own adventurous game drives to view the huge variety of animals and birds. Restcamp at Okaukuejo Waterhole or private lodge outside park.

Day 9: Full day in the Etosha National Park

Overnight at one of the restcamps in the park, Halali or Namutoni. Continue on game drives via open grasslands, Mopane forests and waterholes to our next destination.

Day 10: Lodge in eastern Etosha

Eastern Etosha with its unique Fishers Pan, offers us even more game viewing experiences. Accommodation, good service and African hospitality of a high standard await us. Lodge on private reserve on border of Etosha.

Day 11: Drive to Rundu on the Okavango River

The journey takes us on a drive past many traditional African villages. Sundowner boat cruise on the Okavango River. Lodge on the Okavango River.

Day 12. Travel to the Mahango National Park

View the Popa Falls. Visit nearby Mahango Park, home to a large variety of animals including hippo, buffalo, lion and many different antelope. Lodge on the Okavango at Divundu.

Day 13: Drive through western Caprivi

Afternoon relax and evening boat cruise on the Kwando River, a bird paradise, hippo and many water antelope. Lodge on the Kwando River.

Day 14: Mazambala Island Caprivi Hippo

Game drive in the Bwabwata National Park, home to lion, leopard, elephant, hippo and many other interesting animals and birds. Riverine forest, hippo pools and the famous Horseshoe Bend. Lodge on the Kwando River.

Day 15: Transfer to Kasane /Botswana

Return of rental car at office in Katima. Transfer to Kasane in Botswana to our lodge directly on the Chobe River. We reach our lodge by small boat. The real African adventure begins. Lodge on Impalila Island, Chobe River.

Day 16: Lodge on the Chobe River, Botswana

Early morning boat cruise along the Chobe National Park to view the many elephants and other wild animals found here. In the afternoon we continue on our boat cruise to come within meters of the elephant and other animals coming down to the water to drink, including giraffe, buffalo, sable antelope and more. Lodge on Impalila Island, Chobe River.

Day 17: Transfer to Victoria Falls

The lodge overlooks the deep gorges of the Zambezi, down river from the mighty Victoria Falls. Lodge on the Zambezi River.

Day 18: Victoria Falls

Transfer to the world famous Victoria Falls where the Zambezi River drops 110 meters over a cliff 1700 meters wide, to the gorge below. Known as the Smoke that Thunders, the picture of these falls will remain etched in your memory forever. In the afternoon you may decide to go river rafting, on a boat cruise on the Zambezi River or possibly a scenic flight above the falls. Lodge on the Zambezi River.

Day 19: Flight Victoria Falls - Johannesburg

Transfer to airport for afternoon flight. Return to Europe on night flight out of Johannesburg.
