This 14 Day Self-drive Tour allows you to experience 'Classic Namibia' in all its beauty.

Day 1: Arrive in Windhoek

After your arrival in Namibia, you spend your first day on a lodge near Windhoek, relaxing by the pool, followed by a game drive which ends with a fantastic Namibian sunset. Stay at a lodge near Windhoek.

Day 2: Journey to the edge of the Kalahari Desert, south eastern Namibia

On your second day you journey to the edge of the Kalahari Desert with its typical red sand dunes and Camelthorn tree savannah, where on a game drive, you can view the many desert adapted antelope and birds. Stay at a lodge on the edge of the Kalahari.

imagetitleDay 3: Depart to Sesriem/Sossusvlei

On day 3 your journey takes you down the escarpment to the edge of the great sand sea - the Namib Desert. Here you can explore the interesting Sesriem canyon and walk up Elim Dune to enjoy a 360 degree view of the surrounding desert landscape. Stay at a lodge near the gateway to Sossusvlei.

Day 4: Sossusvlei

At sunrise you drive along the Tsauchab River deep into the dune sea all the way to Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei. After you explore this wonderful area for a few hours you can enjoy a well deserved picnic under the huge Camelthorn trees found here. Stay at a lodge in the Namib Desert.

Day 5: Via the Gaub pass/Kuiseb pass to Swakopmund

You continue northwards on a scenic drive between the escarpment and the red sand dunes via the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons, over the desolate gravel plains, to book into your cosy lodge on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Stay at a lodge / hotel at the beach.

Day 6: Swakopmund

Today you take part in an interesting Marine Cruise to view seals, dolphins, pelicans and other sea birds and marine life. Other activities you may decide to do: Quadbiking in the dunes, a Living Desert Tour into the desert, the aquarium, museum, crystal gallery, snake park and many interesting shops in this charming old colonial town. Stay at a lodge / hotel at the coast.

Day 7: Journey to the Erongo mountains

A beautiful granite boulder strewn environment. You can enjoy an interesting walk to the bushman paintings or you may decide to visit the bushman “Living Museum“. Stay at a lodge in the Erongo mountains, between bizarre rock formations.

Zebra at Etosha WaterholeDay 8: Drive to the Etosha National Park

Etosha, The Great White Place, a park over 24000 sq km in size. Go on your own game drives to view the many animals and birds in this special and scenic park, including elephant, lion and rhinoceros. Relax and enjoy sightings of wild animals at night at the camps’ waterhole. Stay at Okaukuejo Restcamp at the waterhole.

Day 9: Etosha National Park

You continue on your own game drive all the way to Halali, visiting the many waterholes where the animals congregate, along the way. Halali is well known as a birding hotspot and the interesting Moringa waterhole set amongst the dolomite rocks. Stay at Halali Restcamp.

Day 10: Drive to the eastern part of the park

Another day of game viewing in this animal kingdom. The old fort at Namutoni is worth a visit before you leave the park to reach your unique lodge nestled amongst the Terminalia trees with their bright red coloured winged fruits. Stay at a lodge near the eastern entrance to the park.

Day 11: Journey via Tsumeb/Otavi to the Waterberg

On the way to the Waterberg you may visit the bottomless lake Otjikoto. You continue via Grootfontein or Otavi to the sandstone cliffs of the Waterberg. The area is known for its variety of interesting trees and plants and many animal and bird species found there. Stay at Waterberg Restcamp.

Day 12: Waterberg

There are a number of interesting walking trails that you may embark on to explore this scenic nature environment. You may also choose to take a game drive on the top of the plateau, home to a variety of big game including rhino, buffalo and giraffe. Stay at Waterberg Restcamp. Namibian Landscape

Day 13: Drive to Windhoek
Your journey is slowly coming to an end. You travel via Okahandja to reach your lodge between the mountains. You can relax in the lovely gardens and at the pool. In the late afternoon you may decide to take a final game drive. Stay at a lodge in the country just north of Windhoek.

Day 14: International Flight

Departure flight from Windhoek.
